Saudi Non-Profit Sector Centre Establishes Global Benchmark In Community Development

During a panel at the International Non-Profit Sector Exhibition (IENA) in Riyadh, Eng. Abdulmohsen Al-Turki shared insights into Saudi Arabia's journey in forming the National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNPS). This initiative is a key part of Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to empower the sector for national development. The event was held in Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City, also known as "Misk City."

Eng. Al-Turki highlighted that the NCNPS was established with direct support from leadership to boost the non-profit sector's GDP contribution to 5%. The goal is to help civil organizations grow sustainably through an independent structure that enhances governance and performance efficiency. Over three years, more than 4,000 non-profit entities have been registered.

Saudi Non-Profit Centre Sets Global Standard

The NCNPS has also activated specialized units in over 30 government agencies. A unified electronic platform for sector services, known as the One-Stop Shop, was launched to streamline operations. Governance standards based on best practices have been adopted, and strategic agreements with regional and international partners have been signed.

Beyond oversight, the NCNPS focuses on policy development, digital transformation, social investment encouragement, and volunteerism promotion. Eng. Al-Turki stressed that Saudi Arabia's model is globally adaptable and called for increased collaboration with friendly nations to share expertise and develop innovative community solutions.

Eng. Al-Turki noted that Saudi Arabia's experience offers a global model adaptable locally. He urged for greater cooperation with friendly countries to exchange knowledge and enhance innovative solutions benefiting communities.

The NCNPS aims not only to oversee but also to develop policies and legislation. It supports digital transformation initiatives while encouraging social investment and promoting volunteerism culture.

The establishment of the NCNPS aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goals of empowering the non-profit sector for deeper national development impact. This strategic pillar is crucial for achieving sustainability through improved governance and institutional performance efficiency.
