Saudi Arabia And Morocco Strengthen Ties With Health Cooperation MoU
Saudi Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel recently visited Rabat to meet with Moroccan Minister of Health and Social Protection Khalid Ait Taleb. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Morocco Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Alsaleh and an official delegation from the ministry.
During their discussions, the ministers focused on enhancing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Morocco in health services. They signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at improving health partnerships. This MoU aligns with health transformation goals, aiming to enhance service quality and prevent health risks.

The MoU covers various areas including therapeutic and preventive medicine, digital health, and pandemic management. It aims to support and develop health services while facilitating the exchange of expertise between the two nations.
Al-Jalajel highlighted that his visit is part of the historical relations between Saudi Arabia and Morocco within the framework of joint Arab action. He stated, "The MoU signed with my Moroccan counterpart falls within efforts of the ministries of health of the two kingdoms to strengthen our health cooperation, including the exchange of expertise and scientific research."
Institution Visits
Accompanied by Ambassador Alsaleh and Assistant Deputy Minister of Health for International Collaboration Rakan Khalid bin Dohaish, Al-Jalajel toured several governmental and private institutions in Morocco. These included the National Institute of Health and a vaccine manufacturing plant, where they explored opportunities for collaboration in developing the health sector in both countries.
The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance coordination in line with broader Arab efforts to strengthen global health initiatives. This partnership aims to foster better healthcare outcomes through shared knowledge and resources.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about future collaborations that will benefit their respective healthcare systems. The focus remains on improving healthcare quality, advancing medical research, and managing public health challenges effectively.
