Saudi Arabia Initiates World's First National Cultural Metaverse Platform
The Ministry of Culture has recently unveiled a groundbreaking national initiative, marking a significant milestone in the digital domain. This initiative, the first of its kind globally, integrates the Metaverse with the support of an artificial intelligence system known as Generative Media Intelligence (GMI). According to an announcement made by SPA on Saturday, this innovative project is a collaboration with droppGroup and features the world's inaugural 'Phygital' Metaverse, powered by Hyperledger Fabric 2.5 blockchain technology, through the Saudi Heritage Metaverse platform.
The Saudi Heritage Metaverse platform is designed to offer a blend of cultural exhibitions, performances, and digital innovation leveraging GMI technology. It provides a dynamic digital environment where users can engage in various activities and attractions that mirror real-life experiences. Key features of the platform include the History Walk, sections devoted to music, art, history, culinary arts, and crafts, alongside mini-video games. Additionally, the Performance Center is set to broadcast live events, such as the Founding Day Commencement Symphony Concert, directly on the ministry's Metaverse platform.
Emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility, the Ministry of Culture's Metaverse platform is a fully immersive, web-based experience optimized for Mobile XR. It is accessible via a wide array of digital devices, including mobile phones, VR headsets, desktops, and more, facilitating seamless entry into the Metaverse. This approach underscores the Ministry of Culture's commitment to enabling a diverse global audience to explore and engage with the rich tapestry of Saudi culture.
This pioneering experience allows millions from within the Kingdom and around the world to immerse themselves in Saudi events via the Metaverse, symbolizing a pivotal moment in cultural participation.
