Saudi Human Resources Ministry Collaborates With American SHRM On Worker Training

During a significant stride towards enhancing workforce capabilities within Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development recently inked a pivotal memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the American Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). This collaboration aims to unlock new training opportunities and further develop the skills of workers and beneficiaries linked to the ministry's services. The agreement was formalized at the Human Capability Initiative Conference, marking a notable moment for both entities involved.

Representing the Ministry, Mr. Mazin bin Mohammed Alhomoud, the Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources Development and Training, took part in the signing ceremony. On behalf of SHRM, the Regional Assistant Director and Head of Business for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Armand Shibo, was present. The ceremony also saw the attendance of Eng. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Kabeer, the Ministry Undersecretary for Human Capital Development, underscoring the importance of this MoU.

Saudi HR Ministry Partners with SHRM

The terms of this MoU are set to foster cooperation through a professional and vocational certificates project aimed at bolstering the skills and expertise of workers in fields critical to the Saudi labour market. Moreover, both parties have agreed to exchange expertise and knowledge, engage in joint research efforts in human resources, and participate in events, activities, and programs designed to promote and develop human capital.

This partnership between the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and SHRM is a testament to the ongoing efforts to enhance the skill set of the Saudi workforce. By focusing on professional and vocational training, this initiative promises to make significant strides in preparing workers for the demands of the modern labour market.

The signing event took place at 18:45 local time (15:45 GMT), as reported by SPA, marking a new chapter in the development of human capital within Saudi Arabia.
