Saudi Housing Minister To Strengthen Construction Partnership With China
Next week, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, is set to embark on an official journey to Beijing. The visit aims to fortify the Saudi-Chinese collaboration in the construction and real-estate sectors. Minister Al-Hogail's agenda includes meetings with Chinese government officials and executives from construction and banking sectors to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral partnerships.
One of the highlights of Al-Hogail's visit will be witnessing the signing of pivotal agreements between the National Housing Company and Chinese construction firms. These agreements are focused on the development of thousands of housing units and the establishment of an industrial logistics zone dedicated to building materials. This initiative is designed to ensure a stable supply chain and introduce an innovative business model tailored to meet the demands of various residential projects.

This strategic move aligns with ongoing efforts to expand the availability of units in integrated residential communities and suburbs, adhering to the highest quality standards. It also aims at contributing significantly towards achieving a key objective of the housing program, which is to increase the rate of residential ownership in Saudi Arabia to 70% by 2030.
In addition to his engagements with construction companies, Minister Al-Hogail is scheduled to hold discussions with leaders of Chinese banks. These meetings will focus on fostering partnerships and enhancing cooperation in financing real-estate ventures, housing projects, and infrastructure development. The visit underscores a mutual interest in strengthening economic ties and collaborative efforts between Saudi Arabia and China in these vital sectors.
The forthcoming visit by Minister Al-Hogail not only highlights the importance of international cooperation in achieving national development goals but also showcases the proactive steps being taken by Saudi Arabia to enhance its infrastructure and housing sector through global partnerships.
