Saudi Minister Bandar Alkhorayef Explores Latest Financial Technologies At New York Stock Exchange

Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, recently visited the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), a major global exchange. During his visit, he was informed about the latest electronic systems used for company evaluations and sector analysis. He also learned about the exchange's history, trading methods, and purchasing processes, as well as best practices for improving efficiency and competitiveness.

The NYSE, established in 1792, is one of the largest exchanges worldwide with a market capitalization exceeding $30 trillion. It operates an auction-based system where securities brokers facilitate buying and selling shares on behalf of clients. Known for its strict listing requirements and transparency, it provides high levels of investor protection. While primarily based in the United States, it also has offices in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

In New York, Minister Alkhorayef hosted industry ministers and leaders from around the world at an event organized by Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). This gathering served as a precursor to hosting UNIDO's 21st General Conference in Riyadh in 2025 and the Multi-Party Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) in 2024. The minister extended invitations to global industry leaders to participate in these events to foster innovative industrial solutions and policies that support regional and global development.

The official visit by Minister Alkhorayef to the United States will continue until September 28. The primary goals are to enhance cooperation in industrial and mining sectors, strengthen bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the U.S., attract quality investments into Saudi Arabia, and explore investment opportunities in promising sectors such as aviation and aerospace.
