Exploring New Horizons: Saudi Commerce Minister's Visit Strengthens Ties With South Korea

The Saudi Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, met with Dr. Sangwoo Park, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The meeting included discussions on Vision 2030, economic reforms, cooperation opportunities, and expertise exchange in priority sectors. Sami bin Mohammed Al-Sadhan, the Saudi Ambassador to Korea, also attended.

During his visit to Korea, Dr. Al-Qasabi toured the Samsung Innovation Museum in Suwon. He met with Seung-Hee Park, Global President of Public Affairs at Samsung, and senior executives to explore cooperation prospects aligned with Vision 2030's economic reforms.

Saudi-Korea Economic Ties Bolstered

Dr. Al-Qasabi also engaged with Ryu Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom. Their discussions focused on potential cooperation opportunities for ongoing projects in Saudi Arabia. This was part of a broader effort to enhance trade relations and economic partnerships between the two nations.

The visit included meetings with several Korean officials such as the Prime Minister of Korea and ministers responsible for trade, industry, energy, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and startups. These interactions aimed to bolster trade relations and economic partnerships further.

Additionally, Dr. Al-Qasabi participated in the Saudi-Korean Business Forum organized by the National Competitiveness Center (NCC), Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, and Korean Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The forum aimed to strengthen trade relations in various priority economic sectors.

The Saudi delegation included representatives from various government entities and business leaders from major national companies. They discussed challenges faced by the private sector and proposed enhancements for business opportunities.

Dr. Al-Qasabi's visit underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering international partnerships that align with its Vision 2030 goals. By engaging with key Korean officials and business leaders, the Kingdom aims to leverage expertise and explore new avenues for economic growth.
