Saudi Media Forum To Take Place In Riyadh From February 19 To 21, 2025
The Saudi Media Forum is scheduled to take place in Riyadh from February 19 to 21, 2025. This announcement was made by Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthy, CEO of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority and chairman of the forum. The declaration occurred during a meeting at the Co-Production Salon at MIPCOM CANNES 2024 in France, attended by key figures from international production companies and media experts.
Al-Harthy highlighted that the forum's global dimension is a significant factor for its announcement at international events like MIPCOM. He also mentioned their participation in the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam this year. The organizing committee aims to surpass previous editions by leveraging every success as a stepping stone for greater achievements.

The Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX), held alongside the forum, aims to enhance media outreach and attract global media production firms. It is the largest exhibition of its kind in the region, featuring over 200 companies from 30 countries. FOMEX serves as an interactive platform showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovations in media.
Al-Harthy emphasized that Saudi Arabia's ongoing progress under Vision 2030 creates vast opportunities for media growth and investment in technology. The event focuses on these aspects, providing a platform for companies and individuals to develop their media skills and explore advancements in this dynamic industry.
The forum will introduce initiatives to foster local and international partnerships through various developmental tracks. These include funding for start-ups and career development paths for young talents and media professionals, reflecting a commitment to nurturing human capital.
Collaboration with active partners is crucial for achieving the forum's objectives. Al-Harthy stressed that partnerships extend beyond major media institutions, encompassing diverse fields to reinforce its role as a comprehensive media platform.
Awards and Recognition
This year's Saudi Media Forum Award introduces a new track on tolerance, developed with KAICIID International Dialogue Centre. This track promotes human values and cultural understanding. The award encourages exceptional media works that enhance Saudi Arabia's image as a global media hub.
The award includes 15 categories designed to foster competition among content creators and honour outstanding individuals in the field. It aims to elevate the media industry by recognising excellence among professionals and institutions.
Media Transformation Efforts
The forum's development aligns with the Year of Media Transformation led by Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary. This reflects his dedication to keeping pace with changes in Saudi media amidst global shifts while anticipating future industry trends.
Saudi media institutions strive to align with national development goals under Vision 2030, ensuring their outputs contribute positively to these efforts. The ongoing movement within the Saudi media landscape underscores this commitment.
