Saudi And Kuwaiti Foreign Ministers Strengthen Bilateral Relations At Coordination Council Meeting

On Monday, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, welcomed Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding and brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. They also discussed various issues of mutual interest.

The ministers co-chaired the third session of the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council after their meeting. This council aims to enhance bilateral ties between the two nations. The session built on successful outcomes from the council’s subcommittees throughout 2025.

Saudi and Kuwaiti Ministers Meet in Riyadh

Prince Faisal expressed his appreciation for hosting the session in Riyadh. He praised both countries' efforts to ensure its success, highlighting the deep fraternal bonds and strong connections between their peoples. The Kuwaiti foreign minister thanked Saudi Arabia for its warm hospitality and acknowledged the council secretariat's efforts.

Kuwait is looking forward to hosting the fourth session of this council in the future. This anticipation reflects a commitment to furthering cooperation and dialogue between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed to boost collaboration in various sectors. The first MoU focused on Radio and Television Cooperation, signed by Assistant Minister of Media Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth and Kuwaiti Ministry of Information Undersecretary Dr. Nasser Ahmed Muhaisen.

The second MoU addressed Economy and Planning, with signatures from Eng. Rakan bin Waddah Tarabzoni from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Economy and Planning and Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah from Kuwait's Ministry of Oil.

Focus on Science and Technology

The third agreement targeted Science, Technology, and Innovation fields. It was signed by Dr. Ziad bin Saleh Al-Raimi from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and Aseel Sulaiman Al-Munifi from Kuwait’s Ministry of Finance.

The fourth MoU involved Public-Private Partnership Cooperation, with Eng. Muhannad bin Ahmed Basudan from Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Privatization signing alongside Al-Munifi from Kuwait's Finance Ministry.

Attendance by Senior Officials

Several senior officials attended this significant meeting. Among them were Assistant Minister of Interior Dr. Hisham Abdulrahman Al-Falih, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, and Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid.

Other notable attendees included Undersecretary of Energy Dr. Nasser Al-Dossary, Deputy Minister for International Relations Sarah bint Abdulrahman Al-Sayyid, and Eng. Fahad bin Saeed Al-Harithi, head of the council’s Saudi General Secretariat Team.

This gathering underscored both nations' dedication to fostering stronger ties through strategic partnerships across multiple domains.
