Saudi And Kuwaiti Culture Ministers Sign Memorandum Of Understanding To Enhance Cultural Cooperation
Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud and Kuwait's Minister of Information and Culture Abdulrahman bin Bedah Al-Mutairi recently met at the Riyadh International Book Fair. They highlighted the strong historical ties between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, focusing on cultural collaboration through the Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council.
The ministers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture and Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature (NCCAL). This agreement aims to enhance joint efforts in areas such as heritage, architecture, design, museums, visual arts, theater, literature, publishing, translation, fashion, culinary arts, and film.

The MoU also involves sharing expertise on cultural systems and policies. Both countries plan to participate in each other's festivals and cultural events. As UNESCO members, they will coordinate agreements and contribute to strategic projects across various cultural sectors.
Additionally, the MoU seeks to establish artistic residency programs and implement projects for preserving heritage in all its forms. This initiative is rooted in the longstanding historical ties between the leaderships and peoples of both nations.
The agreement is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations across different cultural aspects. It aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting international cultural exchange. The Kuwaiti ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, attended the meeting.
This collaboration aims to foster a deeper understanding between the two countries through shared cultural experiences. By working together in these fields, both nations hope to enrich their cultural landscapes while contributing to global cultural dialogue.
