Saudi Journalists Association And Dar Alyaum Launch AI And Metaverse Journalism Training Initiative

The Saudi Journalists Association and Dar Alyaum For Media have entered into a significant partnership with the University of Missouri, USA. This collaboration aims to boost human capital in digital media. The agreement was signed by Adhwan Al-Ahmari, Chairman of the Saudi Journalists Association, and Alwaleed Al-Mubarak, Chairman of Dar Alyaum For Media, at the latter's headquarters in Dammam.

Under this agreement, 100 training seats are available. Seventy seats are designated for recent media graduates, while 30 are set aside for employees of press institutions. The training will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) journalism and the Metaverse.

Al-Ahmari highlighted that this initiative is a pioneering effort in Saudi journalism. It aims to prepare media professionals to use emerging technologies ethically and professionally. This aligns with Vision 2030 goals, which include fostering a digital economy and building a knowledge-based society.

He also noted that the program supports empowering national talent and elevating local media content to international standards. This initiative is crucial for the media sector in the Eastern Province, enhancing Saudi Arabia's global leadership in digital media innovation.

Al-Mubarak stated that the training introduces participants to cutting-edge digital media practices. These include "Metaverse" journalism, augmented reality, virtual reality, and AI-driven storytelling. Ethical considerations are prioritized to ensure responsible content creation tailored to diverse audiences.

This initiative positions Saudi Arabia’s media sector at the forefront of adopting advanced digital technologies. It further strengthens the Kingdom’s influence globally in digital media.
