Jordan Commends Saudi Support in Strengthening Arab Solidarity and Addressing Key Issues

The relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Jordan has reached an unprecedented level, according to Jordanian Minister of Government Communications and Government Spokesperson Dr. Muhannad Mubaidin. This development is attributed to the directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, highlighting their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties across various sectors.

In a recent interview with the Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Mubaidin reflected on the historical ties that bind these two nations, dating back to their formation. He underscored the solid foundation of these relations, which are aimed at serving mutual interests. The spokesperson also highlighted Jordan's consistent coordination with Saudi Arabia on significant issues, notably the Palestinian cause and Arab unity.

Dr. Mubaidin lauded Saudi Arabia's support for Jordan during economic challenges and its backing of Jordan's stance on the Palestinian issue. He expressed gratitude towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership for their unwavering support.

He further elaborated on the coordination between the two kingdoms regarding the Palestinian issue, especially their participation in a ministerial committee formed during the Riyadh-hosted Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit. This committee is tasked with monitoring developments in Gaza and ensuring aid delivery to the region.

The discussion also covered economic and investment cooperation, with Dr. Mubaidin praising Saudi Arabia's contributions to Jordan's economy through various projects. He mentioned an upcoming visit by Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosari to Jordan aimed at coordinating joint Arab efforts in media and strategizing interactions with international media companies.

Dr. Mubaidin emphasized the significance of Jordan's participation in the Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh, which focuses on contemporary media trends, media's role during crises, combating rumors, and the application of generative AI in media practices.

He concluded by commending the NEOM project for its potential benefits to society and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's role as a key partner in strengthening economic ties and investments that are mutually beneficial.
