Saudi-Japan Relations To Deepen Further In Next 70 Years, Says Ambassador
Tokyo, SPA – The Saudi Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Ghazi Binzagr, highlighted the exceptional nature of the relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan over the past 70 years. Speaking at a press conference organized by Arab News Japan at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan, Dr. Binzagr expressed optimism about the future of bilateral ties.
The press conference marked the conclusion of last week’s Saudi-Japan Business Forum, attended by prominent Saudi ministers and business executives. Dr. Binzagr believes that the next 70 years will be even more significant as both nations aim to diversify beyond traditional anchors of their relationship, foreseeing mutual prosperity and growth.

Ambassador Binzagr emphasized the potential of exploring new energy sources that will benefit both countries. He stressed the importance of asserting relevance in new global realities by working together to co-create values in emerging technologies and elements of soft power such as sports and entertainment.
Dr. Binzagr noted the tremendous interest in Japan within Saudi Arabia, driven by Japanese products and cultural exports like anime. This interest has sparked a desire among Saudi youth to visit, study in Japan, learn Japanese, and understand its history and culture. He pointed out that this cultural dimension will be an additional pillar in the strong relationship between the two nations.
The Ambassador hopes for a reciprocal interest among Japanese people to learn more about Saudi Arabia. He added that Saudi Vision 2030 has opened doors to tourists, allowing Japanese visitors to discover more about the Kingdom’s history and culture.

Ambassador Binzagr reiterated the importance of strong, sustainable relations built on shared interests and values. He emphasized that both Saudi Arabia and Japan share a strong commitment to global peace and robust multilateral institutions. This shared commitment is expected to ensure stable relations and pave the way for further decades of friendly collaboration between the two nations.
