Saudi-Iraqi Transport Committee Holds 6th Session To Enhance Trade And Logistics Cooperation

The sixth session of the Transport, Border Crossings, and Ports Committee under the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council was held virtually. The meeting was led by Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser and Iraqi Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi. Members from both countries participated in the discussions.

Al-Jasser highlighted significant achievements from previous sessions. These include opening the Jadidat Arar border to facilitate goods movement and establishing a Hajj lounge at the port, which served pilgrims during the 1444 AH Hajj season. Direct flights between Saudi Arabia and Iraq have also resumed, connecting Jeddah to Baghdad and Erbil, and Dammam to Najaf.

The committee's efforts in advancing transportation and logistics were emphasized by Al-Jasser. He noted initiatives like training programs and expertise exchanges that aim to enhance goods and people movement via land, sea, and air.
