The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has released the Saudi Internet Report 2024. This report provides verified statistics on internet usage and the digital landscape in Saudi Arabia. It aims to enhance digital service quality, support investors and entrepreneurs, and foster a thriving digital economy. The report outlines key indicators of user behaviour and preferences in internet browsing within the Kingdom during 2024.

Internet penetration in Saudi Arabia has reached an impressive 99%. The report identifies peak internet usage hours between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., with Saturday being one of the busiest days for online activity. Mobile phones dominate internet access, with 99.4% of users opting for this device over others.

The report delves into e-commerce trends, revealing that 93.1% of online purchases are made through local websites. Additionally, it highlights that 21.5% of internet users in Saudi Arabia engage with various artificial intelligence tools and applications, indicating a growing interest in AI technologies.

Global Performance Indicators

Saudi Arabia's performance in global internet-related metrics is noteworthy. The average monthly mobile data consumption per user stands at 48 GB, which is three times higher than the global average. Furthermore, the annual growth rate of Saudi domain names is 25%, significantly outpacing the global average by eight times.

Mobile Internet Speeds and Infrastructure

The Kingdom ranks among the top five G20 countries for mobile internet speeds. This achievement reflects significant advancements in its digital infrastructure, contributing to increased internet penetration and improved service accessibility across the nation.
