Saudi International Handicrafts Week Set For November 2023 With Global Participation And Local Artisans
The Saudi International Handicrafts Week, known as Banan, will take place in Riyadh from November 13 to 26. This event, under the patronage of Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, will feature over 400 local artisans and participants from more than 40 countries. It aims to promote both Saudi and international handicrafts, aligning with the Year of Handicrafts 2025.
China will be the guest of honour at this year's event, showcasing its unique craftsmanship to foster cultural exchange. For the first time, Syria will also participate, presenting its traditional arts and products. The event serves as a platform for cultural cooperation and mutual understanding among nations.

Banan 2025 promises an enriching experience for attendees with interactive workshops and dedicated areas for children. Visitors can explore pavilions featuring both local and international products. Entrepreneurs will have platforms to showcase their innovations, enhancing their market presence.
The House of Artisans initiative will be highlighted during the event. This initiative supports craftspeople throughout Saudi Arabia by providing them with opportunities to develop their skills and expand their reach in the market.
The previous editions of Banan have been successful, attracting over 200,000 visitors. In 2024 alone, sales surpassed SAR2.5 million. The number of participating countries has grown significantly from 12 in the first edition to 25 in the second.
Banan has received several prestigious awards including the Paris Design Award, iF Design Award, and BETTER FUTURE London Design Award 2025. These accolades highlight the Heritage Commission's dedication to supporting cultural initiatives and enhancing national identity.
