Saudi International Handicrafts Week Exhibition Opens In Riyadh With Participation From 25 Countries
The Saudi Heritage Commission launched the second edition of the Saudi International Handicrafts Week Exhibition, known as Banan, on Saturday evening. This event, held at Riyadh's Roshan Front until November 29, aims to support artisans by showcasing their work and enhancing their skills. It features a wide array of pavilions and activities designed to enrich visitors' experiences.
Over 500 Saudi artisans are participating in Banan, joined by representatives from 25 countries. This platform not only celebrates traditional handicrafts but also provides financial support for artisans by helping them market their products. The exhibition includes various sections like the Handicrafts Arts Village and a Live Craft Performances Pavilion.

The Heritage Commission is committed to raising awareness about the importance of handicrafts as a vital part of intangible cultural heritage. Their goal is to ensure these crafts are preserved and passed down to future generations. The Banan exhibition reflects this commitment, aligning with the National Cultural Strategy derived from Saudi Vision 2030.
Apart from showcasing crafts, the event offers a Crafts Exhibition, Craft Workshops Pavilion, and an Interactive Experiences Zone. There is also a platform for entrepreneurs and craft institutions to engage with visitors. A dedicated Children's Pavilion provides activities tailored for young attendees.
The exhibition aspires to be a distinguished cultural event that enhances Saudi Arabia's prominence in the international handicrafts arena. It is open daily from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, except on Mondays and Wednesdays when it opens earlier at 10:00 am.
The Heritage Commission emphasized that Banan aims to develop the handicrafts sector in line with national goals. By doing so, it seeks to elevate Saudi Arabia's status globally in this field while supporting local artisans through exposure and skill development opportunities.
