Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz has contacted security officer Rayan bin Saeed bin Yahya Al-Ahmad, who was injured while on duty at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Prince Abdulaziz praised the officer’s courage and strong sense of responsibility during the incident.

The minister stated that such conduct reflects deep commitment to protecting the Grand Mosque and supporting the safety of worshippers and visitors.

Minister Praises Injured Grand Mosque Officer

The Special Force for the Security of the Grand Mosque had earlier dealt with an incident involving an attempt to jump from an upper level inside the mosque. Officer Al-Ahmad intervened to stop the person from hitting the ground, and sustained injuries while carrying out this intervention.

Following the incident, emergency teams transported both the injured officer and the individual involved to hospital for medical treatment. Medical staff then provided the necessary care to each of them. Their transfer underscored the quick response procedures in place for emergencies inside the Grand Mosque complex.

Prince Abdulaziz stressed that Al-Ahmad’s actions represent more than routine duty. The minister described the intervention as a humanitarian effort that demonstrated sacrifice and devotion. He noted that such behaviour highlights the professional readiness of Grand Mosque security units in dealing with different emergency situations.

The minister explained that the performance of security personnel at the Grand Mosque shows a high level of training and preparedness. According to Prince Abdulaziz, this professionalism supports the protection of worshippers, maintains public order, and helps manage risks that may arise during crowded periods.
