Saudi Arabia And India Strengthen Cooperation At Ministerial Committee Meeting On Political And Security Issues

The second meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Political, Security, Social, and Cultural Cooperation took place today. It was co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and India's External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. This committee is part of the Saudi-India Strategic Partnership Council.

During the meeting, Prince Faisal emphasised the significance of the Saudi-India Strategic Partnership Council. He noted that it is led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The council aims to enhance cooperation between the two nations.

Prince Faisal stressed the importance of collaboration on shared interests, particularly in international peace, security, and economic development. He expressed optimism that increased cooperation would benefit both countries significantly.

The meeting also reviewed initiatives agreed upon in previous discussions. These initiatives were documented in minutes signed by both Prince Faisal and Dr. Jaishankar. They cover areas such as political, consular, defense, military, judicial, security, social, and cultural affairs.

The gathering included several notable attendees. Among them were Abdulrahman Aldawood, Director General of the Office of the Foreign Minister; Jadi bin Naif Alraqaas, Chargé d'Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in India; and Nasser Al-Ghanoum, head of the Saudi side of the Subcommittee on Political and Consular Cooperation.

Representatives from various subcommittees were also present. These subcommittees focus on judicial, security, cultural, social, military, and defense cooperation between Saudi Arabia and India.

This meeting marks a step forward in strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and India through strategic partnerships. The ongoing collaboration aims to address mutual concerns effectively while promoting peace and development.
