Saudi Hospitals Excel With Ten New Entries In 2025 Global Ranking Of Healthcare Institutions

Saudi hospitals have secured top positions in the 2025 Newsweek global ranking, in partnership with Statista. This success highlights the impact of Saudi Vision 2030's health-sector transformation program. The initiative aims to boost the competitiveness of Saudi medical institutions by adhering to global standards, enhancing healthcare quality, and integrating advanced medical technologies.

The list for 2025 features 40 hospitals from across Saudi Arabia, encompassing both public and expanding private-sector facilities. King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh claimed the top spot. It was followed by Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah and King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah.

Saudi Hospitals Shine in Global Rankings

King Saud Medical City in Riyadh ranked fourth, while Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare took fifth place. Other notable mentions include King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh (Ministry of National Guard) at sixth, King Fahd Medical City in Riyadh at seventh, and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Jeddah at eighth.

King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah (Ministry of National Guard) secured ninth place, with International Medical Center in Jeddah rounding out the top ten. This year's results show a significant improvement from last year, as the number of Saudi hospitals on the list increased from 34 to 40.

This achievement underscores the transformative changes within Saudi Arabia’s healthcare sector. Continuous collaboration between public and private sectors has been pivotal in enhancing healthcare quality according to international standards. Investments have been made to develop hospitals, improve medical staff efficiency, and adopt cutting-edge technologies.

The ranking criteria included feedback from over 85,000 global medical experts. It also considered patient satisfaction data, healthcare quality indicators, and evaluations based on patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). These factors collectively contributed to the improved standing of Saudi hospitals globally.

The Kingdom's commitment to elevating its healthcare system is evident through these advancements. By focusing on improving patient experiences and service quality, Saudi Arabia is solidifying its position as a leading global medical destination.
