Arab Physician Of The Year 2025 Recognises Saudi Health Leadership And Scientific Progress

Saudi Arabia’s health sector has gained major recognition in Arab and global forums in 2025. The sector won an award and 19 international medals at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. These honours highlighted advances in health innovation and smart solutions, and reflected the impact of the national health transformation programme on service quality and technology adoption.

Health facilities in the Kingdom also received nine honours at the International Customer Experience Awards. These awards pointed to improved patient journeys and better service standards across many providers. They also indicated rising alignment with global benchmarks in health administration, digital systems and performance management, which support policy goals set under Vision 2030 for the health sector.

Arab Physician of the Year 2025 shines

Within this broader progress, Saudi professionals have achieved individual recognition in Arab and international health awards. Professor of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at King Saud University Dr. Ahmed bin Salem BaHammam was named Arab Physician of the Year 2025 in the scientific research and innovation category by the Council of Arab Health Ministers. The award highlighted research productivity and clinical expertise in respiratory and sleep medicine.

Saudi universities and research centres have also increased scientific output and patent activity. These institutions have improved their global rankings and helped position the Kingdom as a regional and international research hub. Progress in laboratories, training programmes and data analysis has supported this trend, backed by public investment and leadership support for innovation and talent development.

The Kingdom has played an active role in strengthening Arab healthcare systems alongside these awards. Saudi Arabia has led public health initiatives, worked to combat epidemics and supported health governance programmes now adopted in several Arab countries. The Kingdom also shares its health transformation experience through the Council of Arab Health Ministers and backs medical research through institutions including King Saud University.
