King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Bolsters Saudi Green Initiative's Ambitions
The CEO of the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority, Eng. Maher bin Abdullah Al-Gothmi, recently highlighted the significance of Saudi Green Initiative Day, celebrated on March 27. This day marks a pivotal moment for Saudi Arabia, showcasing its strides in climate action and tackling various environmental challenges. Eng. Al-Gothmi emphasized the day as a crucial opportunity for the members of the Saudi society to come together and play an active role in fostering a sustainable future.
Eng. Al-Gothmi expressed gratitude towards divine support and acknowledged the guidance and supervision of Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the chairman of the board of directors of the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority. He credited the authority's success in aligning its projects, initiatives, and outputs with the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative, which was launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This alignment was made possible through comprehensive partnerships spanning government entities, the private sector, non-profit third-sector organizations, and notably, voluntary environmental associations, aiming to secure sustainability for present and future generations.

The King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve stands as one of seven reserves established by royal decree in Saudi Arabia. It holds membership in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and operates under an independent authority led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz. This affiliation underscores the reserve's commitment to global conservation standards and its role in advancing Saudi Arabia's environmental objectives.
The celebration of Saudi Green Initiative Day not only reflects on past achievements but also sets a forward-looking agenda aimed at activating societal roles in environmental stewardship. Through such initiatives, Saudi Arabia continues to demonstrate its dedication to environmental sustainability and climate action on both a national and international stage.
