Saudi Green Building Forum To Participate In UNEA-7 Focusing On Sustainable Solutions
The Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF), a non-governmental entity with consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council, is set to participate in the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7). This event will occur at the UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, from December 8 to 12, 2025. The theme for this assembly is "Advancing Sustainable Solutions for a Resilient Planet."
Before the official opening ceremony, SGBF will host a side event titled "Building the Future Together: Local Solutions for Global Goals" in Conference Room 14, also known as the Green Room. This gathering aims to unite international organizations, representatives from both public and private sectors, and civil society participants. Delegations from Member States and UN Major Groups and Other Stakeholders will also attend.

Faisal Al-Fadl, Secretary-General of SGBF and official facilitator of the Business and Industry Major Group within UNEP’s Major Groups and Stakeholders mechanism, emphasized: "This participation reflects the SGBF’s commitment to its constructive observer role within the UN system and underscores the importance of local solutions as bridges to implementing global goals in practice." He highlighted that empowering local communities and fostering cross-sector partnerships are essential for achieving balanced development that connects people with the planet.
This event is part of SGBF's broader efforts to represent business and industry organizations among UN Major Groups. It aims to facilitate open dialogue between stakeholders to enhance cooperation and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at both local and global levels.
