Girl Scouts Lead Volunteer Efforts Serving Pilgrims At Grand Mosque During Ramadan

Girl Scouts and female leaders continue to support worshippers at the Grand Mosque through the Ramadan public service camp, which the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association organizes and supervises for the entire holy month of Ramadan. The program focuses on helping Umrah performers, worshippers, and fasting visitors, while backing official bodies that manage services in and around the Grand Mosque.

The camp runs until the last day of Ramadan and is designed to improve the experience of visitors through organised fieldwork. Participants work alongside official staff to ease movement, respond to questions, and offer direct assistance on site. The initiative reflects a culture of volunteering and charitable service rooted in Saudi society.

Girl Scouts Serve Pilgrims in Ramadan

Saudi women in the Girl Scouts participate as part of a wider strategy by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association to expand women’s involvement in scouting and volunteer work. This participation continues earlier efforts to open more structured roles for women in programmes, camps, and community activities under the association’s umbrella.

The association’s approach aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which highlights women’s empowerment and greater presence in social and development fields. Through the Ramadan public service camp, Girl Scouts show their ability to work effectively in field roles, standing alongside male scouts and scout leaders while serving Umrah performers and visitors.

Participants in the Ramadan public service camp handle several responsibilities in and around the Grand Mosque. Tasks include offering directions to pilgrims and worshippers, supporting crowd flow in the central area, and assisting authorities that serve the Guests of Allah. Their presence helps visitors move smoothly, find facilities, and receive information when needed.

Girl Scouts in the Ramadan public service camp also support specialist security and religious service bodies that operate at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. Their cooperation with these entities strengthens overall coordination on the ground and helps maintain an organised environment for large numbers of worshippers.

Their work involves direct support for the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security and assistance to the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. Through these joint efforts, volunteers help guide visitor movement, ease entry and exit, and provide on-site services in busy areas surrounding the holy sites.

The Ramadan public service camp highlights a positive image of Saudi women as active partners in national volunteer work. Girl Scouts show a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to volunteer and humanitarian values, reflecting wider support that Saudi women receive across different sectors and enabling them to contribute in development and community roles.

The Saudi Arabian Scouts Association applies strict governance and quality standards across the Ramadan public service camp and other volunteer programmes. Participants receive preparation and training before deployment in the field, which helps ensure organised and professional services that match the leadership’s goals for the two holy mosques and maintain scouting values of service, belonging, and teamwork.
