Saudi General Aviation Airshow 'Sand And Fun 2024' Opens In Riyadh With Global Participation
The Saudi General Aviation Airshow, dubbed "Sand and Fun 2024," began at Al-Thumama Airport in Riyadh. The event was attended by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Founder and Chairman of the Saudi Aviation Club, along with Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation. Numerous officials, ambassadors, and aviation enthusiasts from around the globe were also present.
The airshow coincides with the Kingdom's hosting of the General Assembly of the International Air Sports Federation (FAI) Conference. This conference gathers over 160 participants from 90 countries to discuss advancements in general aviation. The event aims to foster dialogue on future developments within the sector.

Today's schedule included thrilling aerobatic performances by the Saudi Hawks team and other international teams. An exhibition showcasing aviation technologies and programs was also inaugurated. Additionally, panel discussions and specialized workshops took place, offering insights into various aspects of aviation.
This year's airshow highlights the "Sky Ventures" air show, featuring more than 15 international teams known for their aerobatic displays. The Saudi Hawks team is joined by the Phoenix Paramotors Display Team from Poland, adding to the excitement with their aerial maneuvers.
A significant development during the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Aviation Club and Red Sea Aviation Services. This agreement grants Red Sea Aviation Services exclusive rights to provide ground services at Saudi Aviation Club airports.
The "Static Display" aircraft exhibition is another key attraction at "Sand and Fun 2024." It presents a modern collection of military and civilian aircraft, drawing interest from both professionals and enthusiasts alike.
