Saudi GCA And Tunisian Court Of Accounts Sign MOU To Boost Accounting Cooperation

In a significant move to bolster accounting and supervisory collaboration, the Saudi General Court of Audit (GCA) and the Tunisian Court of Accounts have inked a memorandum of understanding. This agreement, signed in Tunis on February 27, 2024, by Dr. Hossam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari, President of the GCA, and Hatem Al-Selini, First Deputy President of the Tunisian Court of Accounts, marks a pivotal step in enhancing professional work between the two entities.

Dr. Al-Anqari highlighted that this memorandum is a continuation of GCA's efforts to forge similar agreements with counterpart agencies across the globe. These agreements underscore GCA's esteemed professional standing on both regional and international platforms. Furthermore, they reflect GCA's commitment to sharing its expertise with other bodies engaged in public financial oversight and accounting within the framework of regional and international organizations.

The primary objective of this memorandum is to foster improved cooperation in financial auditing, compliance, and performance oversight. This goal is set to be achieved through an array of research and consulting projects, alongside meetings, conferences, and training programs on mutually interesting topics.

Moreover, this collaboration aligns with the frameworks of both the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI). Notably, GCA leads ARABOSAI, while the Tunisian Court of Accounts serves as its secretary-general.

The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, the Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia, underscoring the importance of this memorandum in fostering closer ties between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia in areas critical to governance and accountability.
