Saudi Arabia Marks Founding Day with Rich Cultural and Historical Events

The Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia is set to honor the nation's rich history and cultural heritage with a series of events from February 21-26, celebrating the annual Saudi Founding Day on February 22. This day marks the establishment of the Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727, a pivotal moment that laid the foundations for the country and its political system. The events aim to pay tribute to the heroism that has shaped the nation.

Across the Kingdom, a variety of events organized by the Ministry of Culture are scheduled to take place. The Foundation Nights, set for February 21 and 22 at the Abu Bakr Salem Stage in Boulevard City, Riyadh, promise attendees a journey through time with captivating poetry and musical performances. Following this, the Symphony of the Beginning will occur on February 25 and 26 at the same venue, featuring some of the most renowned contemporary Saudi poets alongside performances by the National Orchestra.

Another highlight includes The History Walk, a parade showcasing floats that represent Saudi Arabia’s deep-rooted values and provide a historical timeline from 1727 to the present day. The first day's events will conclude with a musical theatre performance and a drone show.

From February 22 to 24, The Founding Village will be accessible in 14 cities and governorates around the Kingdom, including Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Arar, Dammam, Najran, Al-Baha, Sakaka, Al-Ahsa, Abha, Taif, Qassim, Jizan, and Jeddah. This event is designed to bring to life the Kingdom's historical narratives through immersive experiences that emphasize Saudi Arabia’s cultural legacy and celebrate its three centuries of history.

These celebratory events underscore the Ministry of Culture's commitment to commemorating this significant moment in Saudi history.
