Saudi Arabia's Stance On Comprehensive Human Rights Highlighted At Geneva Council Session

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, took a prominent role in the 55th session of the Human Rights Council at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The session saw the Kingdom's delegation, led by Prince Faisal, actively participating and delivering key messages on human rights and international cooperation.

In his address, Prince Faisal bin Farhan articulated Saudi Arabia's dedication to advancing human rights within a comprehensive framework. Addressing Global Human Rights Issues

Prince Faisal did not shy away from addressing pressing global human rights concerns, particularly the situation in Palestine. He criticized the international community's silence on the hardships faced by the people of Gaza, including displacement and severe human rights violations. The Minister called for immediate action to halt the conflict and initiate a credible peace process, emphasizing the dire need for humanitarian aid and relief efforts in Gaza.

Saudi Arabia's International Calls for Action

The Kingdom has been vocal in its demands for the implementation of Security Council Resolution No. (2720) to alleviate suffering in conflict zones. Prince Faisal reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the necessity of a just and comprehensive peace process. He condemned the double standards often seen in international responses to human crises, advocating for consistent and fair application of humanitarian principles.

The Saudi delegation at the Human Rights Council session included notable figures such as Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, Head of the Human Rights Commission; Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; and Ambassador Abdulmohsen Majed bin Khothaila, the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the UN.
