Saudi Foreign Minister Engages In Critical Talks On Somalia And Turkey

On Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah took a significant role in two pivotal meetings held on the sidelines of the 161st session of the Council of the Arab League (AL) at its headquarters in Cairo. The first meeting, chaired by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar, was of the Ministerial Working Group focused on supporting the Federal Republic of Somalia against aggression towards its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Following this, Prince Faisal also engaged in discussions with the Arab Ministerial Committee, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry. This committee is tasked with overseeing Turkish interventions in the internal affairs of Arab nations.

The discussions in both meetings centered around the critical need for enhanced Arab coordination on issues that are of mutual interest to member states. A key point of consensus was the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of member states, aligning with international laws and conventions. The meetings also provided a platform to review the latest regional and international developments and to evaluate the efforts being made in response to these challenges.
