Saudi Film Nights Introduced In Australia To Enhance Cultural Ties And Cinema Collaboration
The Saudi Film Commission, in collaboration with Australian production company Blacksand Pictures, is set to host Saudi Film Nights at the Sydney Opera House and Sofitel Melbourne on Collins from June 26-28. This event aims to enhance cooperation between the Australian and Saudi film industries.
Two separate screenings will be featured, each showcasing two films. Audiences can choose to watch "Hajjan" by director Abu Bakr Shawky, paired with the short film "Me & Aydarous" by director Sara Balghonaim. Alternatively, they can enjoy the comedy-drama "Alhamour H.A." by director Abdulelah Alqurashi, alongside the animated stop-motion short "Saleeg" from director Afnan Bawyan.

Each screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with visiting Saudi film representatives. These sessions provide an opportunity for local film industry professionals to engage directly with the creators and gain insights into Saudi filmmaking.
