Saudi Film Commission Launches Jax Film Studios To Boost Film Production In Riyadh
The Saudi Film Commission (SFC) has introduced Jax Film Studios, a modern production complex in Riyadh. This development highlights Saudi Arabia's ongoing dedication to fostering a vibrant and globally connected film and media sector. Scheduled for completion in 2025, the studio covers over 7,000 square meters and includes two soundstages of 1,500 square meters each, alongside an advanced virtual production area featuring Sony's latest screen technology.
Jax Film Studios is strategically positioned in Riyadh, providing easy access to luxury hotels, the international airport, fine dining options, and a growing pool of creative and technical professionals. Within a short 20-minute drive, filmmakers can find everything they need to support their projects, from local crews to post-production services.

The complex also boasts a private cinema screening room, reception and meeting spaces, production preparation areas, dining zones, and a dedicated VIP lounge. These facilities are designed to cater to the diverse requirements of contemporary productions. The location ensures that filmmakers have immediate access to essential resources.
Abdullah Al-Qahtani, CEO of the Saudi Film Commission, expressed that Jax Film Studios is pivotal in their strategy to establish world-class film infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. He stated: "Jax Film Studios represents a cornerstone of our strategy to develop a world-class film infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. As we become one of the region’s premier production hubs, this facility is built to meet the highest international standards—empowering local creatives while attracting global talent."
The unveiling took place at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival. Here, the Saudi Film Commission hosted the Saudi Pavilion and welcomed filmmakers and media professionals from around the world. The event underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening its position in the global film industry.
Abduljalil Alnasser, SFC General Manager of Sector Development and Investment Attraction, highlighted the significance of Jax Film Studios: "With Jax Film Studios, we are introducing one of the world’s most advanced and largest virtual production stages, powered by Sony’s latest innovations, unlocking limitless creative possibilities."
