Saudi Exports Unveils Saudi Craft Sub-brand To Promote Handicrafts And Artisans
The Saudi Export Development Authority, through the Made in Saudi Program and in collaboration with the Heritage Commission, has introduced the "Saudi Craft" sub-brand. This initiative was unveiled during the Saudi International Handicrafts Week (Banan), under the patronage of Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan. The launch aims to bolster Saudi handicrafts by highlighting their economic and cultural significance.
The introduction of "Saudi Craft" is part of a broader strategy to integrate industry and culture, fostering national creative industries. This aligns with the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts, which seeks to empower artisans and expand market access for their products. The initiative also aims to enhance the national economy while reinforcing Saudi cultural identity.

The authority emphasises that the Saudi Craft identity is crucial for supporting the national industrial identity. It aims to document and promote Saudi handicrafts as national products known for creativity, authenticity, and quality under the Saudi Made brand. This effort reflects a commitment to creating an integrated system for promoting these crafts both locally and globally.
Collaboration with the Heritage Commission is central to this initiative. The commission plays a vital role in preserving handicraft heritage by empowering practitioners through training and qualification programs. Additionally, it works on raising public awareness about handicrafts as a key component of the Kingdom’s intangible cultural heritage.
The new identity not only supports artisans but also opens new opportunities for their products in wider markets. By doing so, it contributes to boosting the national economy while strengthening Saudi Arabia's cultural identity on a global scale. The initiative underscores the importance of integrating cultural heritage into modern economic frameworks.
This strategic move by Saudi Exports highlights its dedication to showcasing Saudi handicrafts as emblematic of national creativity and quality. Through these efforts, they aim to build a robust platform that supports local artisans while promoting their crafts internationally.
In summary, this initiative represents a significant step towards recognising and promoting Saudi handicrafts as valuable cultural assets. By fostering an environment where these crafts can thrive, it ensures that they remain an integral part of both local traditions and global markets.
