Saudi Embassy In Washington Showcases Cultural Heritage At Annual Passport DC Event
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Washington, DC, took part in the annual "Passport DC" event under the patronage of Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Ambassador to the United States. This cultural event, held every May, involves numerous embassies and aims to foster cultural exchange and introduce various national cultures. The Kingdom's participation aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goals to enhance cultural understanding and showcase its heritage and future aspirations.
The embassy's program was divided into four themed sections. The first section celebrated the "Year of Handicrafts," featuring traditional art by Saudi students abroad, a traditional costume exhibition, and culinary diplomacy activities showcasing dishes from different regions of Saudi Arabia. This section aimed to highlight the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage through various artistic expressions.

The second section focused on Saudi culture through documentaries that explored the Kingdom’s history, cultural richness, and international relations. Visitors enjoyed musical and heritage performances that showcased diverse folk arts from across Saudi Arabia's regions. These presentations aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the Kingdom’s cultural landscape.
The third section marked the 80th anniversary of the Quincy Pact between King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and former US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. A documentary film highlighted significant milestones in their bilateral relationship, accompanied by archival photos from their historic 1945 meeting. This section underscored the longstanding ties between Saudi Arabia and the United States.
The fourth section titled "Story of the Kingdom" featured 11 interactive stations covering topics such as cultural diplomacy, studying in Saudi Arabia, and environmental initiatives. It also included segments on Riyadh Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup 2034 hosted by Saudi Arabia. Additionally, there was a display highlighting the Kingdom’s financial identity through the symbol of the Saudi Riyal.
Events like "Passport DC" serve as global platforms for showcasing Saudi Arabia’s cultural diversity, development initiatives, and achievements worldwide. By participating in such events, the Kingdom aims to promote mutual understanding among nations while highlighting its unique cultural identity on an international stage.
