Saudi Digital Government Authority Unveils Platforms Code To Standardise Digital Identity Across Government Services

The Digital Government Authority (DGA) has introduced the Platforms Code, a unified design system for government platform interfaces in Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to standardise digital interfaces, ensuring a consistent user experience and boosting satisfaction. The announcement was made on Sunday during an event attended by ministers and leaders from both public and private sectors.

DGA Governor Eng. Ahmed Al-Suwaiyan highlighted that the Platforms Code aligns with both local and international digital standards. He emphasised its role in facilitating comprehensive digital transformation within government entities, allowing them to expedite sustainable digital advancements. This move is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of digital services while aligning with strategic digital governance directions.

The DGA explained that the Platforms Code offers an open-source design system to support digital projects across government entities. It integrates code, design tools, and guidelines through a community-driven approach. This integration aids in swiftly developing consistent experiences, enabling designers and developers to address specific needs using pre-built assets.

Additionally, the "Digital Saudi Strategy" was launched at the same event. This strategy aims to boost the growth of the digital economy, allowing public and private sectors to showcase their products more extensively. As part of this strategy, the "Digital Transformation Ambassador" initiative seeks to amplify digital transformation efforts by appointing ambassadors who will foster an integrated digital community.

The introduction of these initiatives marks a significant step towards enhancing Saudi Arabia's digital landscape. By standardising interfaces and promoting a cohesive approach to digital development, these efforts are set to transform how government services are delivered and experienced by users.
