Adel Al-Jubeir Leads Saudi Delegation At The 34th Arab Summit Addressing Regional Challenges

Adel Al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, led Saudi Arabia's delegation at the 34th Regular Session of the Council of the League of Arab States and the 5th Regular Session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Baghdad. He conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressing their hopes for a successful summit.

Al-Jubeir highlighted Saudi Arabia's commitment to addressing Palestinian issues. He called for continued efforts to ease Palestinian suffering and condemned Israeli violations against them. The minister emphasised that these actions breach international laws and norms. He also stressed the importance of maintaining a ceasefire in Gaza and rejected any forced displacement or imposed solutions that disregard Palestinian aspirations.

The minister voiced Saudi Arabia's disapproval of Israeli attacks on Syria. He underscored the need to support Syria in overcoming security challenges. Al-Jubeir urged increased Arab efforts to counter threats to Syria’s stability. He praised US President Donald Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Syria, viewing it as a chance for recovery and development.

On Sudan, Al-Jubeir reiterated Saudi Arabia's dedication to fostering dialogue among conflicting parties. He stressed achieving a complete ceasefire, resolving the crisis, and aiding humanitarian efforts. The Kingdom aims to preserve Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and institutional integrity while alleviating its people's suffering.

Saudi Arabia remains committed to Yemen's security and stability. Al-Jubeir affirmed support for a Yemeni-led political process to resolve the crisis. Ensuring safe maritime corridors is crucial, he noted, emphasising freedom of navigation as a priority for regional stability.

The Kingdom supports Lebanon's president in reforming institutions. Al-Jubeir stressed that weapons should remain under state control only. This aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader goal of strengthening joint Arab action to tackle regional challenges effectively.

Al-Jubeir called for enhanced cooperation among Arab nations to address regional issues collectively. He urged continued development efforts across the region, highlighting the importance of unity in facing common challenges.
