Saudi Date Exports Experience Notable Growth Of 13.7% In First Quarter Of 2024
The National Center for Palms and Dates (NCPD) has recently unveiled a significant uptick in the exportation of Saudi dates during the first quarter of 2024. With a 13.7% increase in value, reaching SAR644 million compared to the same timeframe in 2023, this growth underscores a concerted effort by the NCPD alongside the private sector and relevant authorities to enhance the international profile of Saudi dates. Their concerted efforts aim to position these dates as the preferred choice for consumers worldwide.
This surge in exports is not confined to a single region. A diverse array of countries has shown a marked increase in their importation of Saudi dates, with some nations reporting growth exceeding 100% relative to Q1 2023. Notable mentions include Austria, Norway, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, and Canada. Additionally, Morocco saw its imports grow by 69%, Indonesia by 61%, the Republic of Korea by 41%, and the UK by 33%. The United States, a significant importer, experienced a 29% increase, while Malaysia's imports rose by 16%.

The NCPD credits this outstanding performance to the "unlimited support" from Saudi leadership towards the palm and date sector. The center's initiatives have been multifaceted, focusing on sector development through close collaboration with industry stakeholders, streamlining export procedures to facilitate easier market access, and enhancing marketing efforts to educate global consumers about Saudi dates.
Through its unwavering commitment and strategic initiatives, Saudi Arabia is on a clear path to further cement its status as a leading exporter of high-quality dates. This endeavor not only meets the rising global demand for this nutritious fruit but also showcases the potential of strategic partnerships between government entities and the private sector in promoting national exports on an international stage.
