Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Attends Saudi Cup Horse Racing Ceremony In Riyadh

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended the Saudi Cup horse racing event at King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh. The event was held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Upon arrival, HRH the Crown Prince was welcomed by several dignitaries.

The Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, along with other notable figures such as Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Equestrian Authority and the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA), greeted HRH the Crown Prince. The Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, and JCSA Board Member Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz were also present.

Crown Prince at Saudi Cup Horse Racing

Before the races began, the royal anthem was played. Horses participating in the event moved from their saddling area to the parade ring where jockeys gathered. This marked the beginning of a prestigious evening filled with anticipation and excitement for all attendees.

The ninth race featured the Saudi Cup competition. After its conclusion, HRH the Crown Prince went to the presentation podium to congratulate Susumu Fujita, representing Forever Young, which won the Saudi Cup trophy. He also extended congratulations to Yoshito Yahagi, trainer of Forever Young, and Ryusei Sakai, its jockey.

Both received a horse statuette and a jockey’s helmet as tokens of recognition for their achievements. Commemorative photos were taken to capture this memorable occasion with HRH the Crown Prince and other dignitaries.

Event Attendance

The ceremony attracted numerous princes, ministers, and high-ranking officials from both within Saudi Arabia and abroad. Their presence underscored the significance of this annual event in promoting equestrian sports in the Kingdom.
