Saudi Cultural Week In Qatar To Showcase Traditional Arts And Culinary Heritage
The Saudi Cultural Week, organised by the Ministry of Culture, will take place from February 18 to 21, 2025, at Darb Al Saai in Doha. This event is a collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Culture and highlights the Kingdom’s Year of Handicrafts 2025. It aims to showcase Saudi Arabia's rich cultural heritage and shared values with Qatar.
Visitors can explore various aspects of Saudi culture through exhibitions and activities. The event will feature traditional arts and crafts presented by 10 skilled Saudi artisans. These artisans will demonstrate Al-Hasawi Bisht weaving, Al Sadu weaving, and Iqal crafting. Workshops will also be organised to promote these local art forms, encouraging collaboration between Qatari and Saudi artisans.

Attendees will have the opportunity to discover traditional Saudi fashion. Leading designers will present pieces that blend traditional attire with modern perspectives. These designs will be available for purchase, offering a unique glimpse into the country's fashion scene. Additionally, the Film Commission will screen short films that celebrate Saudi Arabia’s cinematic heritage.
The event promises a diverse array of performances ranging from music and theatre to poetry. Visitors can enjoy Arabic calligraphy and manuscript exhibitions focusing on calligraphy pens and Muqahar paper. Exhibition 13/16 will also be displayed, featuring photography and video that document Saudi Arabia’s vibrant culture.
Culinary enthusiasts can look forward to live demonstrations by five top Saudi chefs. They will prepare famous dishes from various regions, allowing visitors to savour authentic Saudi flavours firsthand. A special beverage corner will serve traditional drinks like Saudi coffee, symbolising the Kingdom’s hospitality.
Saudi Cultural Week in Qatar is more than just an exhibition; it is a celebration of heritage fostering dialogue and collaboration between nations. The event provides a platform for showcasing contemporary art, architecture, culinary artistry, and more while promoting ongoing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
