Saudi Cultural Development Fund Marks Third Year At Cannes Film Festival
The Cultural Development Fund (CDF), a crucial financial entity for Saudi Arabia's cultural sector, is showcasing film financing and investment opportunities at the 77th annual Cannes International Film Festival. The festival, taking place from May 14 to 25, marks the third year of CDF's participation, aligning with its mission to nurture the domestic film scene and bolster cultural growth.
At the Saudi pavilion, led by the Film Commission, CDF highlights its Film Sector Financing Program. This program offers comprehensive financial packages that support the entire filmmaking process, from creation and production to distribution. It caters to both local and foreign companies working on film and TV series in Saudi Arabia.

The program also provides opportunities for companies and investment funds to engage in the Kingdom's film industry, contributing to its development. CDF's presence at Cannes aligns with its ongoing efforts to attract filmmakers and investment, aiming to establish itself as a leader in the Saudi film industry.
Established under the National Development Fund in 2021, CDF aims to invigorate Saudi Arabia's cultural scene. By supporting a range of cultural endeavors and facilitating investment, CDF fosters a thriving domestic cultural sector. This initiative aligns with the National Culture Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
In collaboration with other stakeholders, CDF strives to build a sustainable film sector that contributes to the national GDP. Its participation in international events like Cannes underscores its commitment to attracting global talent and investment to Saudi Arabia's burgeoning film industry.
