Saudi And Chinese Officials Explore Civil Aviation Investment Opportunities
In a significant move to bolster economic and cultural ties, a high-profile delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, engaged in a roundtable meeting with Chinese civil aviation companies in Beijing. The event, chaired by Beijing Municipality Vice Mayor Sima Hong, took place on Wednesday and focused on exploring investment opportunities within the civil aviation sector.
The roundtable aimed at enhancing Saudi-Chinese economic cooperation was organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. During the discussions, Al-Duailej emphasized the strategic relationship between Saudi Arabia and China, noting its crucial role in fostering economic growth and cultural exchanges between the two nations.

Al-Duailej provided insights into the flourishing trade and travel dynamics between Saudi Arabia and China. He pointed out that the trade volume reached approximately $76 billion in 2022. Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the number of travelers between the two countries, with a more than 300% rise in 2023 compared to the previous year. Additionally, flight connections expanded dramatically, with 1,399 flights recorded last year, up from 601 in 2022.
The Saudi delegation's visit also included tours to notable locations such as the Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone and the Logistics Hub at Beijing Daxing International Airport. Here, they explored the Free Trade Zone Innovation Service Center and learned about the advanced services and facilities available.
This meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to deepen their economic cooperation and leverage opportunities within the civil aviation sector. The engagement between Saudi Arabia and China continues to thrive, promising a future of mutual growth and collaboration.
