Saudi Arabia Partners With China To Launch Media Business Accelerator Program

Under the patronage of Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary, the Ministry of Media, represented by the Saudi Media Academy, launched the Media Business Accelerator on Saturday. This initiative was in collaboration with eWTP Arabia Capital, the Saudi Cloud Computing Company (SCCC) – Alibaba Cloud, and the Fujian Youth Federation.

The accelerator was introduced during the Saudi-Chinese Media Entrepreneurs Forum. This event coincided with the visit of the Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress to Saudi Arabia. The program aims to support media entrepreneurs by offering resources, mentorship, and facilitating expertise exchange between Saudi Arabia and China.

Saudi-China Media Accelerator Launch

Assistant Minister Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth delivered a speech on behalf of Minister Al-Dossary. He highlighted that under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's leadership, Saudi Arabia is shaping a significant vision for the future where media plays a crucial role. "Therefore, we take pride in continuing to enhance and develop the media sector industries, in an era where technology has become an international language, a key characteristic of humanity everywhere, and a necessary tool for understanding the keys to the future," he said.

Dr. Al-Maghlouth emphasized that both nations share a rich history and deep cultural ties. He pointed out that technological challenges necessitate addressing new realities through comprehensive systems. He also stressed that this partnership is vital for developing joint projects, exchanging talents, and transferring knowledge.

Jerry Li, Managing Partner at eWTP Arabia Capital, which supported the event by bringing 25 young entrepreneurs from Fujian, China, stated: "As investors in both countries, we affirm that the Chinese government strongly supports bilateral cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the technology and media sectors." He noted that Fujian is one of China's most important provinces with strong economic and trade ties to Saudi Arabia.

Li further mentioned that eWTP Arabia Capital has been active in Saudi Arabia for six years. The company aligns its efforts with China's Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030. He affirmed their commitment to fostering further cooperation and exchanges between both nations in future endeavors.

The accelerator program seeks to empower media entrepreneurs by providing essential resources and mentorship opportunities. It also aims to facilitate knowledge exchange between Saudi Arabia and China. This initiative underscores both countries' commitment to advancing their media sectors through collaborative efforts.

This partnership highlights how technological advancements are reshaping global interactions. By leveraging shared cultural histories and modern innovations, both nations aim to address contemporary challenges effectively.
