Saudi Arabia And China Commit To Enhanced Strategic Partnership

The Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Saudi-Chinese Joint Committee concluded with a statement highlighting efforts to strengthen Saudi-Chinese relations. Premier Li Qiang of China visited Saudi Arabia to discuss with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, focusing on enhancing their comprehensive strategic partnership.

Both leaders praised the strong economic ties between their nations. Saudi Arabia is China's top trading partner in the Middle East, while China holds the same position for Saudi Arabia. By June 2024, trade between the two countries reached $48 billion, with each nation exporting $24 billion worth of goods to the other.

Saudi-China Strategic Ties Boosted

The discussions also covered key regional and international issues of mutual interest. The meeting aimed at exploring ways to boost cooperation in various sectors such as politics, security, defense, energy, trade and investment, finance, science, technology, culture, and tourism.

The Saudi delegation was led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Chinese delegation was headed by Premier Li Qiang. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the robust economic, trade, and investment relations between their countries.

Following their discussions, both leaders signed the official minutes of the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Saudi-Chinese Joint Committee. This act symbolised their commitment to furthering their strategic partnership across all fields.

The meeting underscored the importance of continued collaboration between Saudi Arabia and China. It highlighted mutual benefits derived from their strong bilateral relationship and ongoing dialogue on various global issues.
