Crown Prince Of Saudi Arabia Presides Over Key Cabinet Session In Jeddah

In a recent Cabinet session held in Jeddah, chaired by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, significant discussions took place covering a range of topics from international diplomacy to domestic initiatives. The session saw the Crown Prince providing updates on his communications with global leaders, including a phone call with the President of Germany, a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, and discussions with the Secretary of State of the United States.

One of the pivotal points of discussion was the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The Cabinet expressed its appreciation for the UN Security Council's resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan, highlighting Saudi Arabia's concern for regional stability and peace.

On the domestic front, the Cabinet reviewed performance indicators across various sectors, reflecting on efforts to achieve national goals for progress and development. A notable initiative discussed was the "Jood Regions" campaign aimed at supporting housing for needy families, underscoring the state's commitment to social welfare.

The annual Saudi Green Initiative was also a topic of discussion, with the Cabinet reaffirming the Kingdom's dedication to environmental issues. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's broader vision for sustainability and environmental protection.

Furthermore, the Cabinet deliberated on agenda items previously studied by the Shura Council and reviewed conclusions from various councils and committees. A series of decisions were made during the session, including authorizing the Minister of Culture to discuss and sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tajikistan for cultural cooperation.

International collaborations were a key focus, with approvals given for MoUs in agriculture with Turkey, in technology and communication with Pakistan, in mineral resources with Mauritania, and in investment cooperation with Tunisia and the International Finance Corporation. The Kingdom also endorsed its accession to the International Labour Organization's Convention on Occupational Safety and Health.

Additional agreements included MoUs in space activities with Egypt, in news exchange with Djibouti, between the Saudi Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Singapore's Institute of Technical Education, and in traditional arts with the UK's Royal Academy of Arts.

In a move to support seasonal laborers during the Hajj Season, the Cabinet decided that the state will continue to bear their entry visa fees for the Hadi and Adahi Project. This decision reflects Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to facilitating religious practices while ensuring economic support for those involved.

The session underscored Saudi Arabia's active engagement in both regional and international affairs, alongside its dedication to domestic development across various sectors. Through these discussions and decisions, Saudi Arabia continues to demonstrate its role as a key player on the global stage while prioritizing national progress and welfare.
