Saudi Broadcasting Authority Highlights Comprehensive Media Coverage For Hajj Season 1446 AH
The Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) has released a documentary film that highlights its significant efforts in covering the 1446 AH Hajj season. This film showcases the extensive media operations undertaken to broadcast the Hajj rituals globally, reflecting Saudi Arabia's prominent role in serving pilgrims. The documentary also details the preparations and modern technologies used by the SBA to ensure coverage that aligns with both national identity and international standards.
CEO of SBA, Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harithi, emphasized that the Hajj season is a unique event where the state dedicates all its resources. He described this effort as both an honor and a national duty. Al-Harithi noted that media coverage extends beyond local channels, reaching international audiences through partnerships with the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and other regional organizations. This collaboration aims to deliver Hajj content to screens worldwide, reaching every Muslim household.

Under the leadership of Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary, the media system carries out this coverage with great honor and responsibility. Al-Dossary fully supports these efforts, facilitating coverage that befits this significant event. The SBA's commitment to delivering high-quality broadcasts is evident in its extensive preparations and resource allocation.
Khaled Al-Ghamdi, Vice President of SBA, shared details about their logistical preparations for the Hajj coverage. The SBA deployed over 14 television transport vehicles, 12 satellite trucks, and approximately 120 cameras across holy sites. These resources enabled more than 400 hours of live broadcasting on five dedicated channels.
To ensure professional coverage, around 50 reporters underwent pre-season training sessions. This initiative underscores SBA’s ongoing efforts to enhance media professionalism each year. The training aimed at equipping reporters with skills necessary for effective reporting during such a large-scale event.
The documentary not only highlights technical aspects but also reflects on how these efforts contribute to showcasing Saudi Arabia's global standing. By employing advanced technology and comprehensive planning, the SBA ensures that its media work accurately represents both national identity and international expectations.
This extensive media operation underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to serving pilgrims while maintaining high standards in broadcasting. Through strategic collaborations and technological investments, the Kingdom continues to enhance its global image during significant events like Hajj.
