Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council Strengthens Bilateral Relations Through Strategic Cooperation
The Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council symbolises the deep-rooted connections and historical alignment between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Established in July 2019, following discussions between their foreign ministers, the council provides a structured framework for collaboration. It has been instrumental in policy coordination and strategic initiative implementation since its inaugural session in December 2020, aligning with both Saudi Vision 2030 and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
In February 2025, Dhahran hosted the first Saudi-Bahraini Investment Forum. This event highlighted investment partnerships and opportunities for the private sector. Over 400 participants from government and private sectors attended, promoting economic cooperation and expertise exchange. The forum aimed to foster stronger economic ties between the two nations.

The council is co-chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, alongside Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Their leadership focuses on strengthening cooperation across political, economic, military, media, investment, and social fields to enhance the welfare of their peoples.
Today's fourth meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council in Manama is set to witness agreements and memoranda of understanding that will further deepen cooperation. These agreements are expected to cover areas such as avoiding double taxation, encouraging direct investment, sustainable development, and competition protection.
The anticipated agreements at this meeting aim to bolster relations particularly in developmental, investment, and international trade sectors. By focusing on these areas, both countries hope to create a more prosperous future for their citizens through enhanced collaboration.
The council's efforts are directed towards providing a prosperous future by enhancing cooperation foundations. This includes deepening ties in various fields while ensuring the welfare of their peoples aligns with strategic visions like Saudi Vision 2030.
The council serves as an effective platform for policy coordination. It facilitates joint actions that align with strategic initiatives crucial for both nations' long-term visions. The structured framework it provides is essential for fostering bilateral relations.
