Saudi Badminton Federation Recognized For Gender Equality And Diversity Efforts
The Saudi Badminton Federation has been honoured with the "Gender Equality and Diversity Award" by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), a testament to the Kingdom's commitment to promoting inclusivity in sports. This prestigious accolade was presented to Mogren Al-Mogren, Chairman of the Board of the Saudi federation, by Patama Leeswadtrakul, Deputy President of BWF and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), during the BWF General Assembly in Chengdu, China.
The recognition comes as a result of the Saudi federation's implementation of nine outstanding projects that have significantly contributed to the advancement of badminton in the Kingdom. These initiatives have propelled Saudi Arabia ahead of over 100 countries with advanced badminton programs. The efforts encompassed various areas including governance, employment, and development programs aimed at training national coaches and referees. Additionally, the federation has been active in organizing local championships, participating in international competitions, promoting the sport across local clubs, and increasing the number of male and female players engaged in badminton.
