Smart Solutions By Saudi Authority To Enhance Pilgrim Experience At Two Holy Mosques

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is at the forefront of deploying intelligent solutions and secure digital services to support government entities catering to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, particularly during the Umrah season. This initiative is part of SDAIA's broader commitment to leveraging research in data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve services at these sacred sites, in line with its mission to enhance data capabilities and promote AI innovation.

SDAIA's strategy includes a close collaboration with government bodies involved in serving Umrah performers and visitors, aiming to offer outstanding services. This approach is in response to the guidance of Saudi Arabia's leadership and aligns with the goals of the Pilgrim Experience Programme under Saudi Vision 2030.

Smart Umrah Solutions for Pilgrims

To ease the journey for visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, SDAIA has incorporated services from various government agencies into the "Tawakkalna" application. This app, which is accessible in seven languages across 77 countries, facilitates several essential services such as issuing Umrah permits, weather updates, Qibla direction, and prayer times.

Understanding the critical role of AI technologies in enhancing visitor experience, SDAIA works alongside relevant stakeholders to improve services for Umrah performers and worshippers. This includes sophisticated crowd management and monitoring at entry points to ensure a smooth flow of visitors.

Through its "Baseer" platform, SDAIA introduces technological products powered by national algorithms designed for efficient crowd organization, movement management, and advanced data analytics for real-time insights. Additionally, SDAIA enhances operations at border crossings by supplying human resources, technological devices, conducting preventive maintenance, and offering training on new devices, systems, and updates.

This comprehensive effort by SDAIA not only showcases Saudi Arabia's commitment to harnessing technology for religious tourism but also highlights the potential of AI in transforming service delivery in such significant areas.
