Saudi Architecture And Design Commission Launches Two Key Initiatives In Partnership With International Entities

The Architecture and Design Commission has introduced a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiative. This program is in strategic partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and collaborates with the French Architects for Export (AFEX). It aims to provide Saudi talents with exceptional training and practical experience through leading architectural firms in France, coinciding with their participation in the 2024 Cityscape Global Exhibition.

The commission's initiative aligns with its mission to promote excellence in architecture and design. It seeks to build strategic partnerships with leading organizations and empower local talents. The CPD program offers comprehensive training to support professionals by enhancing their skills and professional output. Participants will benefit from regular educational hours annually, provided through both formal and informal learning opportunities.

The collaboration with AFEX is part of ongoing efforts to provide Saudi talents with valuable international experience. This exposure to leading firms in France is expected to significantly enhance their skills. The commission invited interested individuals to register for the program via a provided link, emphasizing the importance of this international collaboration.

During the Cityscape Global Exhibition, which concluded on Friday, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the commission and Retal Urban Development Company. This agreement focuses on training and professional development for architects and designers. It includes organizing workshops with architecture and design experts, sponsoring competitions, awards, conferences, forums, and lectures.

The MoU also aims to incorporate the values and principles of the King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism into future projects. These initiatives will adhere to applicable regulations and procedures, ensuring that they align with national standards while promoting innovation in architecture.

This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering local talent by providing them access to global expertise. By partnering with renowned organizations like RIBA and AFEX, the commission ensures that Saudi architects gain exposure to international best practices, thereby enhancing their professional capabilities.
