Saudi Arabia: Bridging The Computing Gap To Shape The Intelligent Age

Saudi Arabia is presenting itself as a key global partner in the age of intelligence, with Abdullah Alswaha stating that the Kingdom aims to bridge the worldwide computing gap and unlock new economic value, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Alswaha said the Kingdom’s ambitions extend beyond national borders, with an investment approach based on the idea that Saudi prosperity supports regional and international prosperity, and that this outward focus frames Saudi Arabia’s role in digital growth and the wider intelligent age.

During the World Economic Forum in Davos, Alswaha noted that Saudi Arabia accounts for around 50% of the region’s digital economy, receives half of regional venture capital and unicorn activity, and is ranked first and second globally by the World Economic Forum in indicators linked to digital rise and readiness.

Alswaha explained that the Kingdom is positioning itself as a global computing platform for the age of intelligence, relying on its energy resources, available capital, large land capacity, and long-term planning, which together create conditions that help innovators and investors develop projects that support people, the planet, and economic prosperity.

He highlighted that every dollar spent on digital and computing infrastructure produces multiple returns in software and practical uses, increasing prosperity while serving environmental and social goals, and he underlined that Saudi Arabia wants these investments to generate clear value in real sectors rather than remain abstract figures.

Alswaha stressed that the Kingdom is not limiting its efforts to empowering local institutions and sectors, but is also working to act as a testbed and launch platform for innovators and investors from around the world, offering space for experimentation, expansion, and scalable digital solutions.

Speaking at a panel titled "Integrating Technologies to Achieve Leadership," held during the World Economic Forum meetings in Davos, Alswaha referred to practical healthcare applications that raise productivity and improve quality of life, and said Saudi Arabia is moving to help unlock the next wave of economic value in artificial intelligence.

Alswaha concluded that, with the support and empowerment of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Saudi Arabia is not only participating in the age of intelligence but is helping shape it globally through continued investment in computing, human capabilities, and international partnerships, reinforcing its description as an ideal partner for countries seeking progress in intelligent technologies.
