Saudi Arabia Showcases Women's Empowerment Strategy At Global Industry Summit In Riyadh
The 21st session of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) General Conference in Riyadh featured a significant panel discussion on empowering women in industry. This event, part of the "Global Industry Summit 2025," highlighted Saudi Arabia's strategy to enhance women's roles in industrial sectors. Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development, Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Alahmari, attended the session held during "Women Empowerment Day." He stressed Saudi Arabia's commitment to increasing women's participation in various industrial fields. The focus is on enhancing their leadership roles to drive innovation and achieve sustainable development.

Dr. Alahmari shared that over 100,000 women are currently employed across more than 12,000 licensed factories in Saudi Arabia. Efforts are underway to rehabilitate and expand factory capacities, aiming to accommodate more female talent. This involves collaboration with both public and private sector partners to upgrade facilities.
